Bailando!

So in Chile there's this thing called a jote (ho-tay). It's  basically a Chilean guy who is a player and tries too hard to get a girl. Anyway, there are lots of jotes here in Arica and they love American girls. Whenever we walk down the street people honk their horns at us and whistle when we walk by. The other day we passed these two old guys sitting on a bench and they said "ay, que linda" (oh, how pretty). It's hilarious.

last night we went out dancing at some club in the "el centro", the city's center.  My friends and I were all dancing and all of a sudden we realized that there were all these guys staring at us. They basically made a circle around us and some of them were up on a balcony in the discotec just starring at us dancing. And every now and then if you made eye contact with one of them by accident they would mouth "do you want to dance" to you.

We're all really good about staying together and being safe whenever we go out. As long as we are, these guys are harmless. It's just hilarious the way the guys are here. My friends and I decided we will start to stare at them and whistle right back at them next time.   ;-)
